Zoom Integrates Anthropic's Claude into Contact Center
Zoom has partnered with and invested in Anthropic to integrate the Claude chatbot into its Contact Center portfolio, marking a major step in bringing steerable AI to workplace communications.

Zoom is partnering with Anthropic and its venture arm, Zoom Ventures, has made an investment of an undisclosed amount in the AI startup. Under this new agreement, Zoom will integrate Anthropic's flagship AI assistant, Claude, into its suite of enterprise collaboration tools. The collaboration aligns with Zoom's federated approach to artificial intelligence, which combines its proprietary technology with external models like Claude to address various customer needs.
The initial rollout of this partnership will target the Zoom Contact Center portfolio. By embedding Claude, Zoom aims to elevate the end-user experience and boost the productivity of contact center agents. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei noted that the partnership allows the company to "bring robust, steerable AI to more people in the workplace," emphasizing a shared commitment to safety and helpfulness in enterprise applications.
Alongside the Zoom partnership, Anthropic announced other operational updates, including a new $5 million grant program. This initiative will fund independent research exploring how artificial intelligence impacts the wellbeing of its users. Additionally, the company is addressing technical performance by updating the biology safeguards for its Claude Fable 5 model.
The updates to Claude Fable 5 are designed to significantly reduce false positives during biology-related queries. Previously, users of the Fable 5 model frequently experienced fallbacks, a safety mechanism where the system automatically switched to a less capable model when flagging sensitive biology topics. The new safeguards aim to minimize these interruptions, allowing practitioners to maintain access to the advanced model's capabilities without unnecessary downgrades.
