Anthropic Selects Google Cloud to Train and Deploy Claude
AI safety startup Anthropic has partnered with Google Cloud to leverage its advanced GPU and TPU clusters, a move aimed at scaling and deploying its Claude assistant to a broader audience.

Anthropic has officially selected Google Cloud as its primary cloud provider in a new partnership designed to co-develop advanced AI computing systems. Under the agreement, the AI safety and research company will utilize Google Cloud's cutting-edge graphics processing unit (GPU) and tensor processing unit (TPU) clusters. This infrastructure will support the training, scaling, and deployment of Anthropic's proprietary AI systems, including its flagship conversational assistant, Claude.
According to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, the collaboration provides the necessary performance and scale to deploy these systems to a much larger user base. Anthropic specializes in building steerable and reliable AI systems, utilizing novel safety techniques such as "Constitutional AI" to make its models easier to understand and trust. This update aims to substantially reduce false positives, meaning users will experience fewer "fallbacks" where the system unnecessarily downgrades to a less capable model during biology-related queries.
